Job Description

Action Against Hunger is recruiting 

Warehouse Keeper

Primary duty station: Ramallah office or Hebron office, with expected travel to the other office as required.

For a period of 12 months with possibility of extension

General Objective:

Under the supervision of the Logistics Manager the Warehouse Keeper will ensure the effective and efficient management of all stocks stored in the West Bank warehouses, including proper organization, monitoring, documentation, and control of inventory in line with organizational procedures

 

Key activities in your role will include

Objective 1: Ensure management of the West Bank stocks (30%)

          Responsible for

  • Guarantee that the procedures and instructions of stock management are followed.
  • Ensure follow-up of stocks and pay particular attention to use-by expiring dates of food and medicine
  • Draw up a monthly inventory
  • Keep all documents related to stock management up to date
  • Produce the monthly stock follow up for all stocks of West Bank
  • Check minimum stocks balances when updating stock cards and report anticipated shortages to the Supply officer

          Tasks

  • Make sure the physical check matches with the Bin Cards, Stock Cards and Stock follow up
  • Identify the most used items and prevent shortage.
  • Update the stock follow-up tool on daily basis. Make sure that project codes, dates, unit price and all other information are accurate.
  • Keep the stock organized with identified areas for each department, transit and preparation area. 
  • Keep track of the location of items in the stock follow-up

Objective 2: Ensure the quality of the storage condition (30%)

          Responsible for

  • Check daily that the store is clean and is regularly disinfected and ventilated
  • Check the temperature and humidity of the store
  • Check the sanitary conditions of new products (absence of parasites)
  • Remove infected products and inform the Logistic Manager
  • Report any problem with the quality
  • Tasks
  • Follow up of temperature and humidity of the Warehouse
  • Make sure repellent items are available in the stock
  • Produce lost report for all broken or damage items
  • Close control of the quality of the items must be done and validated for each delivery

Objective 3: Manage cargos and shipments (25%)

          Responsible for

  • Examine the deliveries: quantity, quality, documentation
  • Complete the various dispatch documents
  • Ensure safe preparation and loading of cargo into transportation vehicle
  • Tasks
  • Anticipate the shipment means and availability to send items to the warehouses.
  • Make sure all documents are dully filled and signed when transmitted to the carrier
  • Check if all parcels are well made to protect the items during transportation
  • Inform consignee in advance of the shipment and the size of it

Objective 4: Other support (10%)

Responsible for

  • Support on any task assigned in the log department when needed
  • Archiving the Hard copies in an organized way
  • Tasks
  • Make sure the archiving system for stock management document is clear and easy to find documents

Objective 5: Safety and Security (5%)

          Tasks

  • Ensure the warehouse is secure and that safety measures are in place to protect staff and inventory.
  • Implement and enforce health and safety protocols within the warehouse.

 

Objective 6: Support humanitarian activities of Action Against Hunger

  • Support the emergency interventions of the organization as per the employee’s abilities.
  • Support any activity that helps reaching our humanitarian goals, as per the employees’ abilities.
  • Promote gender equality within the humanitarian and/or development work.
Requirements
High School certificate with professional experience in logistic/clerical work.
University degree preferred in Business Administration, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or related field.
Strong background in Supply Chain Management and warehouse operations, with solid basic IT skills.
Valid driving certificate for operating a forklift/stacker (an asset).
Demonstrated experience in receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking goods and materials.
Ability to maintain accurate documentation, records, and reports.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working on logistics-related projects within humanitarian organizations, international donors, or the private sector.
Proven experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, or a similar logistics role.
Valid driving license and proven driving skills are preferred.
Humanitarian sector knowledge: Considered an asset.
Knowledge of Action Against Hunger: Considered an asset.
Languages: English and Arabic are compulsory (written and verbal); French is an asset.
IT and Systems:Required knowledge of Microsoft Windows environment (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, email, etc.).
Mobility between West Bank premises is required.
