Job Objectives: 
The IT Manager serves as the strategic lead and operational executive for all IT functions across the Foundation. In addition to managing infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation, the manager directly performs advanced IT duties for the Foundation, ensuring continuity of service, cost-effective operations, and alignment with Foundation’s goals. 

Responsibilities & Duties:

1. Strategic IT Leadership

•  Develop and implement the Foundation’s IT strategy, in alignment with the Foundation’s vision and strategic guide.
• Lead the annual IT planning and budgeting, including forecasting, and resource allocation.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions.
• Represent IT in cross-departmental planning and decision-making.
   
  2. Infrastructure Management

• Maintain, and troubleshoot IT Infrastructure including servers, networks, endpoints, and data center equipment. 
•  Perform system upgrades, patching, and configuration tasks.
•  Ensure high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and business continuity.
• Maintain proper environmental conditions in the data center and coordinate with facilities as needed.
• Track emerging technologies and recommend relevant upgrades.
   
   
  3. Cybersecurity & Compliance

• Implement and monitor security protocols: firewalls, encryption, endpoint protection, intrusion detection.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and enforce access controls.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external standards.
• Stay updated on cybersecurity threats and mitigation strategies.
   
  4. End-User Support & Service Delivery
• Act as second-level support for hardware/software issues.
• Manage helpdesk operations and resolve escalated tickets.
• Provide in-house training and IT awareness sessions for staff.
• Set up and manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies.
• Support internal and external events with IT setup and troubleshooting.
   
  5. Project Management & Implementation

• Lead and execute IT projects: system migrations, new deployments, upgrades.
• Collaborate with departments to assess needs and deliver tailored solutions.
• Document configurations, procedures, and system changes.
   
  6. Asset Management
• Maintain IT inventory (fixed assets, digital assets, licenses, consumables) and ensure it’s documented, updated and tracked on ManageEngine.
• Contribute to fixed assets labeling, count, and disposal, in coordination with the Facilities unit.

7. Policy Enforcement & Governance

• Prepare, update, and Implement Foundation IT policies and guidelines at office level.
• Contribute to the development and enforcement of data protection policies.

• 8. Managerial
• Develop technical specifications for IT purchases and participate in procurement committees
•  Evaluate vendors and service providers; negotiate contracts and SLAs.
• Supervise and monitor the daily activities performed by the sub-ordinate staff; conduct appraisal and determine training needs.
• Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports in addition to the semi-annual and annual summaries.
• Supervise external IT service providers when engaged.
• Perform any other IT-related tasks as assigned by Director of Administration.
