The YWCA of Jerusalem, located in Sheikh Jarrah East Jerusalem, is a membership-based women organization registered locally as non-governmental. The YWCA works under four main thematic areas: Women and youth Economic Development, Women’s Rights Programs, Youth Leadership, Training and Civic Engagement as well as Children Education and Cognitive Learning.
Mental Health is cross cutting the four thematic areas of the YWCA of Jerusalem. The YWCA’s Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) interventions have been actively implemented in East Jerusalem, prioritizing child protection and addressing gender-based violence among women and girls. These interventions are delivered at the YWCA’s headquarters and through partnerships with community-based organizations (CBOs) across Jerusalem. The primary areas of focus include Sheikh Jarrah, Anata and surrounding areas.
Project Outcome 2: Increased access and improved response to culturally sensitive mental health and psychosocial support for youth and women, especially survivors of GBV. Enhanced Psychosocial Resilience and Protection Services.
The social worker will be based in Jerusalem and/or Anata with some travelling to partner organizations within Jerusalem peripheries or West Bank.
