Clinical Scientist

Istishari Arab Hospital (IAH) is seeking a highly qualified Part-Time or Full-Time Clinical Scientist to join our Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Laboratory. This critical role focuses on the preparation and handling of cellular therapy products, primarily stem cells for transplantation. The position is fully on-site and offers the opportunity to contribute to a leading BMT program through scientific expertise, technical skill, and commitment to patient safety and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• BMT Lab Operations:

-     Supervise all activities related to cellular preparation and processing for transplantation.

-     Coordinate stem cell collection (apheresis) and oversee isolation, cryopreservation, and storage procedures.

• Quality Assurance & Compliance:

-     Ensure compliance with SOPs and institutional, national, and international standards.

-     Implement quality control procedures and maintain accurate documentation and product traceability.

• Technical Expertise & Support:

-     Serve as the subject matter expert on cellular therapy techniques.

-     Provide guidance on product handling, viability, and dosing to optimize clinical outcomes.

• Interdepartmental Collaboration:

-     Coordinate with the clinical hematology/oncology team, blood bank, and HLA typing laboratory to ensure streamlined workflow and patient-centered care.

• Lab Coordination & Training:

-     Manage daily lab operations, prioritize processing requests, and support or train junior staff and technologists.

-    Assist in protocol development, equipment maintenance, and supply management in coordination with the lab director.
