Bank of Palestine is seeking to recruit a qualified candidate for the "Database Administrator Officer"
position to join the IT-Infrastructure Department team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage the Oracle, MSSQL, Postgress, MySQL, and Mongo databases.
- Administrate Oracle RAC.
- Configure and monitor data guard.
- Oracle Grid control experience.
- Implement and manage comprehensive backup procedures.
- Verify the integrity of backups.
- Control access to databases by creating and managing user accounts and roles.
- Optimize database performance, query performance, indexing, and database configuration settings.
- Develop and implement data archiving strategies to manage storage costs and improve database performance.
- Apply patches and updates to database software to protect against vulnerabilities and improve functionality.
- Implement high-availability solutions, such as clustering, replication, and failover mechanisms.
- Implement robust security measures to protect databases from unauthorized access, breaches, and other threats.
- Regularly updating the database security protocols.
- Implement and manage Oracle WebLogic, Tomcat, MS IIS, Apache, and JBoss application servers
- Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time.
- Perform daily health checks and monitoring for database environments, operating systems, and applications.
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after-hours.
- Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement.
- Maintaining and managing OS including Linux & Windows.
- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a relevant field.
- Minimum 4 years of Database administration experience or related.
- Experience in the banking sector or support company is a plus.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to learn about recent technologies.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills and quick understanding of complex information, databases, systems, and requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills.
- Excellent language skills in English and Arabic.
- DBA certifications are highly preferred.
Technical Competencies:
- Proven work experience as a Database administrator.
- Familiarity with database design, coding, and documentation.
- Knowledge of database backup procedures, recovery systems, and SQL.
- Knowledge of Web services and API.
- Solid knowledge of all aspects of SQL Server development and development tools, best practices, and standards, including SQL, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, etc. required.
- Experience with MS SQL Always-On Cluster.
- Strong experience in Linux scripting and PowerShell
- Experience with Oracle Audit Vault and Database Firewall.
- Experience with Oracle Advanced Security.
