Established in 1995 and re-registered under No. IA/000104/08, PFAIU currently represents 300 companies. The Union is committed to promoting and developing the Palestinian food industry by organizing export initiatives, providing training in management and marketing, facilitating access to international markets, and supporting sustainability and innovation in the sector.

In alignment with national and international environmental priorities, PFAIU is leading initiatives under the Green and Circular Economy (GCE) framework, with a focus on inclusivity, innovation, and sustainability.
The food and agriculture industries represent the largest industrial sector in Palestine and are key contributors to economic resilience. The sector is increasingly adopting sustainable practices such as waste reduction, food waste utilization, and minimizing environmental impact. The sector is trying all the way to contribute to environmental protection efforts. To take advantage of Food waste, “Food waste “as well as reduce the environmental impact.
This project, led by PFAIU in partnership with the Belgian Development Agency (Enable) and funded by the Government of Belgium under the Green West Bank intervention, aims to drive a sustainable transformation in the food industry. The project supports the integration of Green and Circular Economy practices into the food value chain, enhancing ecological and social resilience in the region.
Through this collaboration, the following objectives will be pursued:

To supporting the Green and circular economy and entrepreneurship in the Food value chain based on a market system approach.

Scope of Work
Under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator and overall management of the PFAIU General Manager, the Field Officer will be responsible mainly for implementing and monitoring GCE project activities in the field. The position involves close engagement with beneficiary companies, and relevant stakeholders to ensure proper follow-up, data collection, and documentation.
