Business Alliance HR is recruiting a Senior Back End Engineer (JAVA) for a High Tech Company offering digital healthcare solutions, located in Ramallah, Palestine. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintain and develop a messaging platform using Scala and Akka framework.

2. Work with Postgres and Cassandra databases.

3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize scalable and reliable backend systems.

4. Write clean, maintainable, and high-performance code.

5. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in production environments.

6. Participate in code reviews.

7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to Java, Scala, and functional programming.

Requirements

1. Experience with Scala and Akka frameworks is highly desirable.

2. Familiarity with functional programming principles and libraries in Java is required, especially if Scala experience is lacking.

3. Solid understanding of database systems, particularly Postgres and Cassandra.

4. Familiarity with other JVM languages like Kotlin can be beneficial.

5. Proficiency in designing and implementing APIs.

6. Experience with message-driven architectures and messaging platforms is a plus.

7. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

8. Familiarity with software development best practices, including version control (e.g., Git), automated testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

9. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

10. Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.

11. Agile/Scrum development experience is a plus.

Years of experience:

Minimum 5 years of total experience including a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Languages Required:

Fluent in Arabic & English.
